  2. Lloyd has a teaching ministry especially focusing on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

They ask for prayer for:

  • Their spiritual and physical health
  • Breakthroughs in ministry and relationships.
  • More workers to catch their vision for reaching Mexico.
  • An increased desire to see God’s power poured out.

The McAllie Family

Ed and Jeanette–BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR

The McAllie Family

Their current involvement:

  1. Since 1981 Ed and Jeanette have helped establish churches in Baja California Sur, from Guerrero Negro at the northern end of the state to Cabo San Lucas at the tip, utilizing means such as evangelism, construction, English classes, and even craft classes. All are indigenous on-going works today.
  2. They are presently raising up a church in Los Planes, a rural agricultural area with surrounding unchurched towns. They pray that this congregation will be the evangelistic hub to reach the entire area.
  3. Occassionally they teach in the local Bible school
  4. Their family includes three married sons and four grandchildren

They ask for prayer for:

  • The provision of a national pastor for the Los Planes church, preferably a team that could work with multifaceted ministries.
  • A divine move of God to impact the lives of those who have received the Word but still not made eternal commitments to the Lord. They ant to see the growth of the “seed” planted over the past two and a half years in Los Planes and vicinity.

  2. Their calling is to plant new churches and help grow the existing ones. They do this through street ministry to children (using puppets and clowns), dramas sharing the truth of the gospel to youth and adults, preaching in local churches and tent crusades.
  3. Another facet of their ministry is construction of churches, a Bible school and District offices for the “Distrito Bajío”.

They ask for prayer for:

  • Carolyn’s health: improving but in need of a miraculous recovery.
  • Local pastors that are struggling to reach their areas.
  • An outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the District.
  • Divine guidance for our ministry outreaches.

  2. They are currently completing their itineration and will soon move to CINCEL. They will need to become familiar with two languages, the Mexican Sign Language (LSM) (every country has its own sign language) and Spanish.

They ask for prayer for:

Prayer Focus: The Heart of Darkness

HOD MapThe Heart of Darkness is represented by three Assembly of God districts: El Centro, El Bahio, and El Occidente.

This week’s prayer focus is on the district El Occidente. El Occidente pledged to plant 50 new churches in two years. They currently have 140 credential holders, and by the end of last year have already planted 48 of the 50.

Praise God! Let’s pray for those new churches and their pastors:

  • For strong Biblical messages
  • For God’s provision
  • For the wives and families of the pastors
  • For a burden for soul winning and evangelism in each church

We invite you to set aside some time on Friday to fast and pray for this area of the Heart of Darkness.

In Focus: Building up the Church Through Focusing on Young Lives

The Mexico Missionary Fellowship is made up of three teams, Builders, Equippers, and Compassion. In this “In Focus” article and in the monthly updates that follow we’ll be featuring profiles, news, and insight from each team.

The Spear FamilyWith a population of youth ages 10-29 that equals 31.7 million or almost 30% of the total population of Mexico, it is clear that ministry focused on this demographic should be an essential element in the plan to reach this nation. Builders Team Members David and Kristen Speer are providing an answer to this need with their youth-focused ministry located in Mexico City.

Former pastors from the state of Michigan, David and Kristen, along with their children Talyor and Hudson, are reaching out to this receptive age group through two specific ministries:

Vive al Máximo

Mexican YouthVive al Máximo is a team of Mexican young people committed to reaching their generation for Christ. The ministry is carried out by training and equipping the youth of the local church, preparing them for the campaign. During the week long campaign, school assemblies are held in as many as forty schools, reaching up to 2400 young lives with a values-based message (it is against the law to speak about God or Christ in public schools in Mexico). In every school youth are invited to a nightly fiesta that is thrown in a local park where there is a live band, attention grabbing Stomp routines, dramas, and most importantly, a presentation of the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. David says that, “Hundreds of lives have been changed for eternity through this relevant ministry.”

Street Kids Ministry

Mexican Street ChildThere are approximately 30,000 street children living in the streets of Mexico City, and half of them are little girls ages 7 to 18. The Speers are planning to begin to reach out to these “throw-away kids” with a three-phase plan to rescue them from the streets, show them the love of Christ in a tangible way, and see them reintegrated back into society.

In addition, the Speers are partnering with the Ann Sanders Bible Institute, which is committed to training the next generation of ministers in Mexico city as well as teaming with local pastors as they plant churches in the Huatla area of Mexico.

True the need to reach the youth of Mexico is great, but Builders Team Members David and Kristen Speer are taking the challenge head on!
